THUNDER GTX - Brown/Sand

The Adaptive Hero System really locks my heel in place on rocky descents — no rubbing or hot spots after eight miles of mixed trail. The boots feel solid underfoot without being clunky. First pair of hiking boots I've owned that didn't need a painful break-in.

The Vibram Hero sole bit into wet granite on a ten-mile loop and I never slipped once. My knees usually ache on descents but the stability on these kept it manageable. Only gripe is they run a touch warm in summer.

Wore these straight out of the box for a 9-mile mixed trail and zero break-in blisters, which never happens for me. The Adaptive Hero System really does keep your ankle locked without feeling stiff on the downhill sections.
