The Thunder Pro GTX excels for fast, stable movement over rough terrain and multi-day outings with heavy packs. The secret to the Thunder Pro's comfort is Zamberlan's new Active Heel Pad (AHP) construction, which strategically positions a low-density PU insert pocketed within the heel of the insole. This transfers impact of the heel with the ground directly to the sole for continuous cushioning, reducing wear on your joints. The Thunder Pro derives its toughness from durable, Hydrobloc-treated Perwanger leather uppers, lined with GORE-TEX waterproof-breathable membranes. For support in off-trail, rugged terrain, the soft collar protects the ankle, while PU toe and heel rands shrug off rocks and brush. Because every ounce adds up over long trips, the Thunder Pro uses a lightweight Vibram Junko Lite outsole with Megagrip for maximum traction with minimum weight. For serious hikers, backpackers, hunters, and adventurers seeking maximum durability and support in a lightweight package, the Thunder Pro GTX is the ultimate choice.

Kevin ★★★★★

Took these on a weeklong trip with a 40-pound pack and they handled rocky descents and stream crossings without a single blister. The boot's stiffness gave me confidence on unstable ground, and they didn't feel clunky even after hours of hiking.

Amelia ★★★★★

The heel pad really does something on descents—my feet weren't sliding forward at all, even scrambling down wet rock with a loaded pack. Stiff enough for rough ground but I didn't need to break them in.

Claire W. ★★★★★

Took these on a four-day trip with a 40-pound pack and my heels never once slipped, which I credit to that Active Heel Pad construction. The Gore-Tex kept my feet dry through two creek crossings and a full day of rain. Zero blisters, which honestly never happens to me.
